'Taste of the Town' will spotlight new restaurants
Fans of the local culinary scene will want to gas up and head north for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce's Taste of the Town event.
The South Montgomery County convention will be held Jan. 29 from 4 to 9 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott (1601 Lake Robbins Drive). The event is expected to see a gathering of some of the area's finest chefs, restaurateurs and bakers converge for a lineup of great food.
Last year's event saw a record-high attendance rate of about 6,500 people, 141 businesses, 59 restaurants and 45 first-time restaurants participating.
With those stats, you can be sure that you'll get a first-dibs look at what's headed to that area's bustling dining scene this year, including highly anticipated eateries like La Fisheria-Woodlands and Ruggles Green.
In addition to a look at upcoming restaurants, this year's Taste of the Town will include a raffle for private wine tastings, VIP Club passes at a Woodlands Pavilion concert and a number of other prizes. Those in attendance will be able to sample Texas-made products, including spices and condiments. Go Texas gifts will also be on sale.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and can be purchased at www.tasteofthetown.org.
