H-E-B's new 'groceraunt' opens Friday in Stone Oak

H-E-B workers and construction crews scrambled Thursday to finish preparing the grocery chain's first full-service restaurant, Oaks Crossing, that opens Friday adjacent to the new Market at Stone Oak.

The hybrid "groceraunt" location occupies about 80,000 square feet at the corner of Hardy Oak and Wilderness Oak and expands on an in-store cafe concept that H-E-B debuted in Austin last year.
With a full-fledged kitchen staff, Oaks Crossing will welcome diners seven days a week and offer a seven-page menu featuring street tacos, by-the-pound barbecue, pizza, burgers and more.
Some of the signature entrees include a roasted Brussels sprouts pizza, a Tejas burger topped with guacamole and corn chips, brisket smoked for 13 hours and anchiote chicken tacos with roasted corn and black bean salsa.

Customers who enjoy the Oaks Crossing burger buns can even buy some of the bread from the bakery inside the Market at Stone Oak.

Oaks Crossing also boasts a full beer, wine and liquor license and will offer several mixed drinks, including a champagne margarita, avocado pineapple martini and "Carrot Top sangria."
Staring June 20, the Market at Stone Oak will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight every day. Oaks Crossing will be open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to midnight.

The restaurant will serve Sunday brunch starting at 10 a.m.
