Bartenders to take gin-fueled challenge in Sugar Land

The most spirited event of the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair is the On the Rocks Bartender’s Challenge. This year’s event will be 6:30-9 p.m. April 24 at the Sugar Land Regional Airport, 12890 Highway 6.

The challengers — charged with creating an original gin-based cocktail — include Luis Villegas of El Big Bad, Leslie Ross of Triniti, Nathan Reffell of Lei Low Rum Lounge, Sheridan Fay of El Big Bad and Triniti and Blake Jorgensen of Prohibition.
A panel of judges will select the winning cocktail, which will become the official drink of the five-day culinary festival. The winning bartender also will win $1,000.
