The festival, now in its 11th year, will be April 23-27. New this year is an expanded beer garden, a pavilion for chef demonstrations and a pop-up shop where local culinarians will be on hand to sign their books.
Highlights of the five-day event include:
VIP Kick-off Dinner on April 23: To be held at the Houston Museum of Natural Science-Sugar Land, the five-course dinner is themed "Judgment of Paris" and will re-create a famous wine tasting held in Paris in 1976. At the end of the evening, diners will select a winner in a battle of Old World (French) and New World (California) wines. Tickets are $150.
The Grand Tasting on April 25: More than a dozen chefs, including Neal Cox of Olivette, Ricky Cruz of Grotto and Frederic Perrier of Aura, will be donning their toques for an evening of food and wine in the ballroom of the Sugar Land Marriott. Tickets are $125.
Sip & Strollat the Imperial on April 26: The grounds of the historical Imperial Sugar Factory will be the setting for this outdoor event that showcases food, wine and more than 100 beers. Tickets are $65.
Bistro Brunch on April 27: This mimosa- and Bloody Mary-fueled party on Sugar Land Town Square features an international menu and closes out the festival. Tickets are $50.
Other events include a bartender challenge and a wine-themed battle of the sexes, as well as whiskey and tequila seminars.

Brenner's Wine Fest
Sample nearly two dozen wines and enjoy small bites by Grotto Ristorante, McCormick & Schmick's and Vic & Anthony's at Brenner's Wine Fest 3-6 p.m. Saturday. The outdoor event is held on the lush grounds of Brenner's on the Bayou, 1 Birdsall. Ticket are $65. A VIP ticket that includes early entry and premium wines is $125.
