El Tiempo’s new Webster restaurant to open in June
The new El Tiempo Cantina in the Webster/Clear Lake area — the biggest outpost yet from one of Houston’s most beloved the Tex-Mex food families — is scheduled to open in June. The new 500-seat El Tiempo at 20235 Gulf Freeway in Webster had hoped to be open in time for Cinco de Mayo, but construction is still ongoing.
According to El Tiempo owner and executive chef Dominic Laurenzo, it was time to open in the Webster/Clear lake area.
“We have so many wonderful, loyal customers who live in the Webster-Clear Lake area who have begged us to open an El Tiempo Cantina near them,” Laurenzo stated. “We are happy to be able to make their dream come true.”
The new restaurant, under construction will boast two patios, two private dining rooms, and a 50-foot bar.
The Laurenzos have been busy expanding the El Tiempo brand. In February 2013, Dominic, grandson of the famed “Mama” Ninfa Laurenzo, opened a grand El Tiempo on Navigation, across the street from the Original Ninfa’s on Navigation.
This new Webster restaurant will be the sixth El Tiempo.
