KFC secretly launches a Chick-fil-A competitor in Texas
Yum Brands, the brain behind fried-chicken giant KFC, as well as Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, will launch a test store called Super Chix with a strikingly familiar menu and concept in Arlington this month, Ad Age reports.
Its marketing and overall look are like a cross between Five Guys and Chick-fil-A, with its website proclaiming its product as "the last true chicken sandwich." It looks like the menu will focus on premium products with just a few chicken selections (sounding familiar yet?), signature sauces as well as hand-cut fries.
The website also touts chicken with "no MSG, HFCS or phosphates" and is cooked in 100 percent refiend peanut oil.
