Schlitterbahn runs first human test on insane new ride

Schlitterbahn water park has conducted its first human trials of the Verrückt, a new ride that stands 168 feet, 7 inches tall and has been dubbed the world’s tallest water slide.

The 17-story slide’s public debut continues to be delayed, but the Kansas City park has released this point-of-view video from the first live human trials, in addition to an unmanned test flight that ended, well … not well.

Among the tarrying facts reported on i09.com:

The Verrückt stands taller than the 151-foot Statue of Liberty, and Niagra Falls.
Riders will have to climb 264 steps to reach the top.
The ride down, down, down is expected to hit 65 mph.
Velcro straps will be required in the raft.
You can see more about this invention at the official website: http://theverruckt.com/
And just so you know: “Verrückt” means “crazy” or “mad” in German.
