Pitmasters gather for the love of barbecue

The pitmasters of the Houston Barbecue Festival, which takes over Reliant Park on Sunday, share of a love of barbecue and a pride in the perfection of their product. After that, all paths diverge.
Nearly 20 barbecue masters, mobile cooks and budding businessmen will be represented. Among them are a published poet, a Purple Heart recipient and a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef.
